Ep 46: You Already Hear Your Intuition, You're Just Not Listening
It's not that your intuition went quiet. It's that you stopped recognizing it as yours.
In this episode
Why intuition often shows up like background music: present the whole time, but easy to tune out.
Two real-life moments where Asha heard her intuition and didn't realize it until later.
Why going quiet isn't about 30-minute meditations, and where you're actually missing it.
How to tell the difference between intuition and fear (hint: real intuition usually isn't emotional).
The practice of trusting what you hear before you understand why.

Asha (00:00.214)
Now part of you might be thinking, why does it really matter if I hear my intuition or not? Or Asha, what did you miss? Because life went on anyway. And I was kind of thinking that because I don't know that there's anything different that I would have done. But what I realized when I was missing my intuition is that part of it felt like I was missing myself. Like I was missing these signs, this information that was free and available to me, but I just
did not perceive it or that's not true. I just didn't realize what it was. I just didn't pay attention. And I think once you've had the experience of receiving messages, it's easy to get upset when you realize that you've missed the messages again later. And so I had to just tell myself like, okay, Asha, this is good information. You're actually connected all the time. These things are playing in the background.
But how are you going to tune your radio or focus your attention so that you're always open to what is being given to you? There's another example of I had some issues at the studio. The fiscal police have been coming to the studio checking to make sure that I have the right tax codes. Who even knew that there was fiscal police in this world? But apparently there are and they're here in Portugal.
And everybody is afraid of the police because they can shut you down and, you know, fine you and do all these things for the business. And I'm not really afraid because I feel like I've done everything that I'm supposed to and that if I haven't, everything is fixable. But then I had the idea, I should just go to the police and talk to them, say, hey, this is what I've done and this is what I know. Is there anything that I'm missing so I can be in compliance?
And that is totally counter-cultural to what everybody else has been telling me. Everybody else is afraid. Close the door. Don't make too much noise. know, if you hear that there are a couple streets away, send everybody home. And that is just also not a way that I want to operate because the work that I'm doing in life in general, but also here in Lisbon should be done in the light, not in the dark. And so I refuse to hide or to cower,
Asha (02:23.083)
or to be scared because I don't know all of the things that I need to know. So it just dropped in. I should go and find them and talk to them and resolve it, create a relationship, help them to understand that you're not trying to be disrespectful or trying to hide anything, but that you really actually want to get this right. And the reason why I know that this is my intuition is because I have been
feeling the fear of everybody else thinking, I just need to be more careful. But this came as such a clear message of go and talk to them. It was not emotional. It wasn't scary. It just dropped in as the thing that I need to do. Now, here's the thing. It only dropped in once. And then I thought about it. But it's not like I kept getting these repeated messages, which has been very on brand for the quiet hum of the music
of my intuition in the background for the last 10 days to two weeks. And so how do you even begin to tune into that radio station, particularly when it's so quiet? It's almost like you know that you had a dream and you wake up and you can't quite remember the dream or the more you try and think about it, the more elusive it is. The first thing that's required is an openness and to directly tell your guides to talk to me.
I want to hear from you. I'm open. I'm open to any of the ways that you want to communicate with me and then actually be open to any of the ways that the messages might come. I'm leading a class right now. I'm teaching people how to become intuitive readers, how to hear their intuition and how to use that to do readings for other people. And one of the things that I tell them about my own experience and probably theirs too, is that they're probably receiving messages all the time, but they just don't know it. When I first started practicing my reading, I
thought that every little stomach grumble I had was because I had just eaten before class started. And it took my instructor to tell me, Asha, tune into that feeling in your stomach right now and ask what it means. And then something would pop into my head and I would think, I'm just thinking this. And I would dismiss it. She'd say, tell me what you're thinking. And I would say it. And she's like, that's exactly it. That's exactly it. And she was able to confirm it for me. And so then I began to practice trusting my intuition, trusting that little thing, that little
Asha (04:46.568)
niggle in your ear, in your brain that doesn't quite make sense. It's not always going to make logical sense. You're not always going to know where it came from. Half the time, you're probably going to wonder if you're making it up or if it really is from something else. Listen to it. Trust it. Test it. See if it's accurate. The next thing you're going to have to do is you're to have to quiet some of the noise. It's really hard to hear your intuition when you're moving around all the time. When you always have
headphones in your ears, when you're always surrounded with people, when you're always distracted, sometimes you need that quiet space and it may not need to be more than two minutes in the shower as you're walking from your house to your car or as you're moving from one building to the next to just take a deep breath and to center yourself, to tune in to what is it that you hear around you. That little ask,
it's small, but that can make a big difference. It doesn't have to be in a 30 minute meditation. It doesn't have to be, you know, a three day silent retreat. It can be in those small moments. And that's probably actually where you're missing the background noise. And the last thing that you need to do is just to trust it and to test it. Again, you're not going to understand exactly what it is. It's not always going to make sense.
I've been getting the message that I need to hire a virtual assistant, someone who can work with me online, even though I have this physical location in Portugal. And I've been resisting it because it doesn't make sense for me to hire an admin online when I have somebody that I can work with in the studio. But it keeps coming up. It keeps coming up. The other day, I finally realized, I need someone who can move fast.
whose only responsibility it is to work online, who already knows the email systems, the electronic systems that I use, and who can move as fast as my brain moves. And the people who I'm working with here in Lisbon also have other responsibilities. And so I have to work with their schedule and they have to work with mine. I did not understand that until last week. But that message
Asha (07:02.948)
had been given to me for the last two or three months and I resisted because I didn't understand why. So there's a part of you that's gonna have to step out on faith and just trust it even when you don't understand exactly why. And that's the practice. So how do you even begin with this? These are the things that I had to do when I got ready to flip my life upside down. I had to tune into my intuition. had to...
practiced listening and I had to trust what I heard. And out of that experience, I created a program called RESET It is literally to help you RESET. It is designed to help you hear and feel your intuition and then to trust it enough to take action based on your intuition. And there are three options to join RESET that are upcoming. There's an online option that begins June 7th.
There's an in-person in Lisbon option that also begins June 7th. And then there's a two-day retreat option, same content, but delivered over two days. This is perfect if you are visiting Lisbon or if you are outside of Lisbon and don't have the time to come over six weeks. Join the two-day RESET retreat, July 3rd and 4th, coming up in Lisbon, Portugal.
And here's what we do. This program is designed for the high-achieving professional woman who's used to over-functioning, who's used to figuring everything out, and you've been pleasing everybody else so long, listening to conventional advice for so long, doing what you are supposed to be doing for so long that you don't even know how to hear your own voice anymore. You're not sure what your intuition is saying because it gets all mixed up with wisdom and what
you're supposed to do. And sometimes beyond that, you hear what your intuition is saying, but you're too afraid to act on it, too afraid to take that next step. This is where we meet you in RESET. We help your body to feel calm first. So you can actually take the steps that you need to take based on the wisdom that you're hearing. It's perfect for you. If you are ready to make a change,
Asha (09:22.228)
If you are feeling overwhelmed, overworked, you feel like you're stuck, your mind is telling you to do one thing, but your body just won't let you make that move yet. So in the show notes below, there are links to check out the three different options for RESET. Click on them, ask me any questions that you have. I would love to have you either in studio, in Lisbon or online. The containers are small. They are
capped at 12 women because it is important for us to be able to build trust and I want to be able to give everybody my undivided attention when we are together. So if you are tired of feeling like you are stuck, it's time for a RESET. Join using the link in the show notes below and I will talk to you soon.
