Diaspora Dinner: Senegalese Food
June 26th - 7PM

Some of the best conversations happen around a table.
The Diaspora Dinner is a monthly gathering celebrating food, culture, and connection across the African diaspora. Each edition highlights a dish from a different part of our global family, bringing people together through shared stories and flavors.
This month, we’re serving Maffe, a beloved West African groundnut stew enjoyed across Senegal, Mali, Guinea, and The Gambia. Rich, comforting, and served over rice, it’s a dish rooted in tradition and made for sharing. Whether it’s familiar or completely new to you, join us for an evening of good food, community, and connection.

Gen Yoga Teacher, London
Gen is the kind of teacher who reminds you, gently and without any fuss, that your body already knows the way home. She carries a grounded, settled energy that
puts you at ease from the very first breath and she is deeply versed in the kind of work that goes beyond the physical. Emotional release. Energetic clearing. The quiet unravelling of things you didn’t even know you were holding. Her classes are not just movement, they are a kind of medicine. You will sweat, you will stretch, and somewhere in the middle of it all, something will shift. You’ll leave feeling more like yourself than when you walked in. A little lighter. A little freer. Genuinely uplifted.
When asked what she wants people to feel, they said: uplifted.

One year ago, Asha’s Place opened its doors with a simple intention: to create a place where people could exhale.
A place to rest. To reconnect. To be held. To remember who they are beneath the noise, the pressure, and the endless doing.
What started as a vision has become a sanctuary. A home for healing, movement, conversation, laughter, tears, breath, community, and belonging. A space where the African diaspora and all who honor this space can arrive exactly as they are.
Over the past year, we’ve witnessed strangers become family, healing become collective, and rest become a radical act of self-love.
To everyone who has walked through these doors, attended a class, shared a story, held space, trusted the process, or simply believed in this dream—thank you. You are part of this story.
Asha’s Place is not just a studio.
It is a reminder that we all deserve a soft place to land.
Happy 1 year, Asha’s Place.
Here’s to many more moments of healing, joy, connection, and coming home to ourselves.
Electric Ease Herbs Workshop: For Nourishment & Nervous System Regulation
June 20th -11:30AM

What if the plants already sitting in your kitchen knew exactly what your body needed?
This workshop is an unhurried, sensory exploration of ginger, hibiscus, and tulsi: how they taste, how they work, and how their intelligence meets yours.
We’ll look at your relationship with plant wisdom, blend herbs in ways that feel good to your body and your palate, and practice tuning into what your nervous system is actually asking for: more electricity, more ease, or both.
You’ll leave with recipes to play with at home, a closer relationship with a specific plant, and a new understanding of how plant medicine can sharpen your own intuition.
Come ready to taste, experiment, and slow down.
Join Our Retreat!
You built the life.
The career, the credentials, the milestones, the moments people celebrate.
And still, something inside feels off.
Not because you’re ungrateful.
Not because you’re broken.
But because you’ve been carrying so much for so long that your body has become the place where it all lives.
The fatigue. The tension. The inflammation. The emotional weight you can explain perfectly, yet somehow still carry every day.
RESET is a 2-day healing retreat and somatic healing programme created for Black women and women of colour who are ready to stop silently surviving everything.
Through breathwork, somatic practices, and ancestral connection, we move beyond just talking about healing and begin to feel, release, and reconnect with ourselves from the inside out.
You do not have to hold it all alone anymore.
If your body has been asking for rest, softness, or release, this is your invitation to listen.
This is a 2-day in-person retreat in Lisbon, Portugal, happening July 3rd and 4th.

Fernanda, Salsa Instructor, Chile
Fernanda will light up the room the moment she walks in, and then she will light you up too. As a salsa instructor with a personality as bright as her passion, she has a rare gift for meeting everybody exactly where they are and guiding them somewhere they didn’t
know it could go.
She doesn’t ask you to be graceful. She doesn’t ask you to be polished. She asks you to show up, to try, and to stay curious when it gets hard,
because it will get hard, and that is exactly the point. Her classes are a love letter to the challenge of learning to move in new ways, and she will be right there with you through every stumble and every breakthrough.

Astrology Workshop: The Work You Were Made For
June 5th - 6PM

What if the disconnect you feel between your work and who you are is information, not confusion? In this workshop, we’ll use your birth chart to explore your natural gifts, talents, and life purpose. You will leave with the confirmation you needed to finally leap, or the peace of knowing you’re already exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Bring your questions, tensions, and any feelings of stuckness. Together, we will find a reason to rejoice and a way to move forward that is aligned with who you are.

Victor Men’s Group Instructor, Brazil
Victor brings the warmth of Bahia into every circle he holds, and you feel it the moment he speaks. There is a joyfulness to him that is not performative, it is rooted, it
is real, and it makes the hard things feel a little more possible.
His men’s groups are spaces where difficult topics are not avoided but explored, with care, with humor,
and with a genuine belief that men deserve rooms where they can be honest. He creates that room. He holds it with his whole chest. If you’ve been looking for a space to go deeper without losing yourself in the heaviness, Victor’s circle might be
exactly that.
When asked what he wants people to feel, they said: openness.

Indi Mateta Organiser & DJ, Angola
Indi is the pulse behind the room. A multidisciplinary artist with Angola in her roots and Lisbon in her rhythm, she moves across worlds, music, movement, community,
creation, with the kind of ease that only comes from being deeply, unapologetically herself. She is woven into the fabric of Lisbon’s music scene, and she brings all of that richness into every space she curates. When Indi is behind the decks or behind the scenes, you feel it. The room shifts. Something loosens. Something opens. She is here to shake things up, and honestly, we are so glad she is.
When asked what she wants people to feel, they said: welcomed and to experience both collective and individual healing.
